Episode 6- Self-esteem, self-worth, and self-image

Updated: Jan 25

Self-esteem, self-worth, and self-identity are key parts in creating the life you want, but many of us were not able to develop any of these during our childhood. Now in adulthood we are still struggling to develop them. The following prompts can help you strengthen them and proceed on a healing journey!

To work on your self-esteem:

  1. Do you like who you are?

  2. If you said yes to #1, what do you like about yourself?

  3. If you said no to #1, what don't you like about yourself?

  4. If you said no, is that truly what you believe, or what was told to you by your parents?

  5. List positive things others have said about you. Do you believe them?

To work on your self-worth:

  1. What do you think your purpose is in this world?

  2. Are you satisfied with that purpose?

  3. If you said no to #2, what would you like your purpose to be?

  4. What can you do to make that purpose happen for you?

  5. Ask someone you trust, what they think your purpose is. Do you agree with them?

To work on your self-identity:

  1. Make a list of all your likes and dislikes. Include everything you can think of like food, entertainment, places, people, items, etc.

  2. Describe yourself as if you were describing yourself to someone who has never met you.

  3. Did you like the things you said in #2?

  4. Is there qualities you would like to embrace that you don't have? How would these qualities improve your life?

  5. Ask someone you trust to describe you as if they were telling someone that doesn't know you about you. Do you agree with and like what they said?
