Episode 28- I'm on Vacation


Journal Prompt:

  1. Where is a place you like to go that brings you peace? This could be a place as simple as your bedroom, backyard, or a far away place where you have traveled. 

  2. If the place you are thinking of isn’t close by, what could you do to create a space in your home that reminds you of that place?

  3. When you create a space for yourself, include scents, colors, and textures that you like. Add music or another type of sound that helps you relax. 

  4. When taking time to relax in your space, plan an activity that will bring you peace like yoga, breathing techniques for relaxation, reading, crafting, etc.

  5. You could also allow yourself a food or drink treat during this time. Nothing crazy, but something small that you enjoy and typically deprive yourself of. 

The important part of this time is not allowing your mind to think about negative or toxic thoughts. Give yourself a break from all the hard work you are doing with coping, healing, and growing from your trauma.
